A personal development plan is a short description of how you did your thesis or research. If you are a master's or thesis student, you will need to submit a personal development plan with your thesis paper.
Here I will present a sample of a personal development plan for your convenience. Hopefully, it will be helpful enough in your educational life.
How to write a Personal Development Plan?
It is basically a written document that gives us a roadmap for our own personal growth and self-improvement. So here you just write about the steps from the beginning to the end of your project. Your personal development will include the following:
- Attending the classes of research;
- Data collection methods;
- Choosing a topic
- Personal meeting with the tutor; and
- Preparing a dissertation.
Sample PDP
The researcher has attended the lectures for the first four weeks and learned how to write the research at the postgraduate level. Moreover, the tutor has helped to find out the way to collect the necessary data from various sources. During the lecture period, the librarian Marry has introduced the way to access the internal and external sources.
Firstly, the researcher chooses the topic in his interested area using the Westlaw, LexisNexis, Industrial Journal Articles, and cases. Second two weeks, the researcher sees his tutor personally at the pre-set appointment times and discusses the problems and difficulties that confront during the preparation of this dissertation proposal.
Finally, I prepared my dissertation proposal entitled ‘A critical appraisal of the problems with employment status and rights in the modern age’.
The researcher has added an overview of the schedule of activities in the table.
